Shopping: Sayulita

For many years, the only things you could buy in Sayulita were beer, Chiclets gum and some pretty darn good Mexican meals served out of a thatched roof shack on the beach. I remember taking day trips to Puerto Vallarta with my mom to find a regalo (present) for a friend . . . or a souvenir to take home.

In My Bag: Fashion Week

I always try to pack as lightly as possible for any trip . . . one carry-on only. BUT, there is always extra pressure when I’m packing for Fashion Week in NYC — especially in February when the temperatures are frigid but the fashion is hot. Here is a peek at a few things I took with me last week . . . these items, my Alexander Wang handbag and some great boots — equals perfection. I was comfortable and just cool enough to breeze in & out of shows at Lincoln Center . . . thanks Lucky Brand for making packing so easy!

Santa Fe Style

The Lucky Brand team spent the week on location in New Mexico for Spring 2013 . . . The sun was shining down all day at Ghost Ranch – so hats, sunglasses, & scarves were must-haves along with proper desert footwear & sunscreen! We’re not going to give away all our secrets just yet but here’s a sneak peak at the on-set fashion worn by our crew as they braved the heat . . .

A candy store for the senses — my eyes were constantly amazed (and quite tired by week’s end) as 3 trends emerged on the streets . . . Redefined Denim , Black & White , Pattern Mixing + Color. In My Bag – Refuge Cove, BC

I’m traveling to Canada — Refuge Cove to be exact, a 2 1/2 hour seaplane ride from Seattle’s Lake Union. It’s a place my family goes every August to get away from everything (except the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen).

There is a general store on the island (a two minute boat ride around the point) . . . it’s no Whole Foods so half of the 24lb limit is dedicated to snacks & cocktail mixings! Outfits have to be flexible and easily layered for cool nights and mornings — and as always, denim is a staple! Here is my Refuge Cove wardrobe necessities checklist . . .
