As contributing fashion editor at GQ.com, Megan Gustashaw is no stranger to good style. After studying English Education at NYU, it was a seamless segue for her into the world of blogging and digital content. She started out at Sugar, Inc., did a stint at Ralph Lauren, before finding herself giving the 411 on men’s style and grooming at GQ. Having described her style as “vintage-inspired,” Megan banks on high-waisted denim, trusty tees, and all-around 80’s feeling pieces to tie together her wardrobe. We tapped her fashion expertise on how to pull together denim looks and here’s her lowdown:

For this look, Megan pairs high-waisted jeans with a soft, perforated sweater; for a vibe she describes as "very MOM, but in the coolest way."
" I love the ‘80s-ness of a pair of high-waist, skin-tight jeans and a sweater with the sleeves pushed back."

You can take the woman out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of the woman. For this look, she keeps things simple, but sophisticated in an all black outfit.
"I love the weight of this shirt. Because it's lined it had a substantial feel that helps it really hang nicely and feel special."

Megan opts for a lived-in type feel for her weekender outfit. She pairs her jeans back to our Lucky Lady Rose Tee, perfect for a lazy Sunday.
"I love souvenir T-shirts—ones that mark a moment of time in your life and then stay with you for years after that. I have a “Lucky” magazine T-shirt I got in a swag bag at a fashion party in 2004 or something. It so soft and so perfect now, and I love the double meaning of the red “Lucky”. This Lucky Brand shirt reminds me of it and is maybe even a bit cooler—and softer!"
Megan definitely considers jeans a wardrobe staple – mainly because they hit 3 major points: A) relatively cost-friendly, B) relatively comfortable, and C) makes you feel like a babe. They’re equally sexy and functional, which really is all you need in life. Need we say more? But don’t take our word for it, just ask the fashion editor at GQ.com.

Megan's Advice to Aspiring Writers
"This is small, but find the time of day and environment that lets you do your best work and plan your schedule around it. Forcing yourself to write when you are tired or distracted is an uphill battle and you pretty much always lose. Personally, I like to write in the early mornings when my mind is super clear and the caffeine is pumping, so I’ll try to save my market work, photo research, and meetings for the late afternoons and evenings."
