Let’s Shop… vintage

Friday 24, January 2014 - 3:00 am | Out + About

One of my favorite things to do is shop at antique stores & flea markets. My Grandmother taught my Mom, & my Mom taught me at a young age the difference between crystal and glass & how to read the hallmarks on an antique piece of sterling silver. The history, the patina, the idea of a good treasure hunt & a great find all add to the allure of flea market shopping.

Steve Santagati & I took a trip to the Long Beach Antique Market recently & had a great time wandering the aisles.  It’s always more fun to shop with a friend, especially one that enjoys the hunt & the haggling as much as I do! We wanted to share some of our shopping tips with you…take a look!

I’m so used to our flea markets up here in Nor Cal it was great shopping in a different area…I found some great tooled leather bags, belt buckles(of course) but the best part was speaking Spanish with some of the vendors! always makes bargaining more fun!
