Borrowed from the Boys

Friday 17, January 2014 - 3:00 am | Features, Lucky Picks

Grab your blazer, tie your oxfords and you’re ready to go. But sometimes your lived in pieces need a revamp and that’s when it’s best to borrow. Whether you’re stealing from your boyfriend, brother or friend—it’s hard to deny that men’s silhouettes manage to hit the mark every time.

Take a men’s style blazer and pair it with a chic, feminine top and skinnies for an alternative version of a simple work outfit. Chunky watches, worn in beanies, patched up pants, sleek oxfords and horn-rimmed glasses are just a few pieces to mix in to get a boyish look with girlish charm. If you’re on the go, my personal favorite is throwing on a pair of Lucky’s worn and torn light wash Dylan Boyfriend jeans with any top, sweater or hoodie to start the day on the right foot, and in the right gear.

Love these looks! I’ve been searching for a decent boyfriend style blazer and have had no luck! Help! I really want to add this staple piece to my wardrobe. I am petite, usually a size 4 blouse. Any suggestions?! Thank you!

Melissa – so glad you like this! A great place to find a blazer (& lots of other things) is the boys department. The sizes will fit you perfectly & the cut will be the boyfriend inspired shape you are looking for…
      thanks for reading!
