Located where the road ends . . . literally . . . Along the mountainous southern coast of Turkey, you will find Kabak. A remote, breathtaking valley with views of the turquoise Mediterranean like I’ve never seen before.

We arrived at the end of this road on a Monday,  not knowing what to expect . . . but hoping for Amazing!

We parked the car, grabbed our small bags (and a beer at the roadside stand) in preparation for the 30 minute hike to the valley floor.

As we took it all in, a small bus arrived offering to drive us into the valley — yes please! A windy, dusty dirt road eventually opened up to the most beautiful white rock and sand beach . . . we knew we’d found paradise.Turan-Hill-Lounge Turkey

There are several beautiful eco resorts in Kabak . . . we choose Turan Hill Lounge – individual bungalows built into the hillside (each with amazing views). Winding, cobbled walking paths connect the bungalows to the lounge areas and to the mountain spring pools . . . everywhere you looked, there was an inviting place to sit . . . stare . . . and unwind.

The days went something like this . . .

Wake up to the sound of roosters calling and slowly move from the bungalow to the grape vine covered porch for a delicious freshly prepared breakfast of yogurt, fresh bread, a variety of  jams, fruit & Turkish coffee.

Stare at the water . . . Move to the upper lounge . . . Stare at the water.
Move to the pool . . . swim, lounge on the deck packed with pillows . . . Swim again.

Walk the 2-minute white rock path to the beach thru the woods — swim, float, stare at the water.
Lounge on the pillows near the pool at the beach.

Order a beer, stare at the water, doze off for awhile.
Return to Turan Hill for dinner at 8 . . . candles glowing from everywhere, great music, Turkish wine and again . . . stare at the water, the stars, the mountains — The perfect day.

They say there is some magical force of protection watching over this valley and I believe it . . . it was so peaceful. I would definitely return to Kabak & Turan Hill — highly recommended.

Meet Ece, Turan Hill Innkeeper
-
She and her husband have been running Turan Hill for a long time and it’s apparent that she loves it . . . she is stunning. You can feel her good energy the second you meet her and she puts all of that energy into making guests feel so welcome.
-
I loved her . . . and she was nice enough to tell me about the Evil Eye (which was everywhere) & the history of this ancient symbol . . .
