Memorial Day Pinning Poppies

-

On your day off this Memorial Day, take the time to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Over the past century multiple traditions have marked this holiday . . . A tradition that I love is pinning poppies!

Wearing a red silk poppy represents the great loss of life in war and a hope and promise for new life. The “Memorial Flower” solidified its traditional ties with the holiday with the poem “In Flanders Fields.” The poppies that scattered the battlefield symbolized a memory of those who lost their lives and a bright hope for new life in the future.

It’s a day characterized by flags, food and family; but more importantly a time to recognize and honor those who died while serving. Take your time to say thank you and pin a poppy for a loved one.

I love your style and want to shop with you more. I’m an inseam 34-36 and you don’t seem to have many long sizes anymore. Will you be adding more soon? (Hoping, hoping…) – Shauna
