I was lucky enough to attend the Academy of Art University Graduation Fashion Show — I have to say it was quite an impressive event . . .

There were several special guests in attendance including Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s Creative Director Philip Treacy (milliner to the stars — and royals), fashion writers Suzy Menkes of the Herald Tribune and Cathy Horyn of the New York Times among others.

The main goal of the evening for the graduating seniors . . . to be awarded an internship with any of the aforementioned fashion hot shots. Portfolios were on display and mini interviews were taking place prior to the show. At 7:00 pm the hip crowd took their seats and the show began.

Amazing to see eager, young talent show-off in front of an audience dotted with fashion legends and bare witness to their big breaks!
