Fashion Week Journal – Day 1

3 shows back-to-back. Biggest decision of the day is whether to watch the Fall fashion or the ‘fashionable’ watching the fashion. Between the intricate beading found on the runway of Jenny Packham, the oversized cable knits and gauchos of Rachel Roy, discovering the Fashion Week debut of Negarin and the well executed looks of those attending all — the morning was off to a great start.

It’s not a proper trip uptown without a stop at Bergdorf Goodman. Straight to the 2^nd floor shoe salon before our 12:30 lunch rezzie upstairs at BG Restaurant.

Jackpot! Reese Witherspoon & handlers camped out on a sofa . . . she compliments me on my cute red coat, which naturally leads to a Legally Blond discussion (in my opinion, a “must own” in any dvd collection).  She is oh so cute – as are the shoes surrounding us!

iphone dies from snapping so many pics & video . . . just enough time to pop into the Apple store across the street for a battery booster pack before heading downtown.

We head to the Chelsea Fine Arts Building for the Viktor Luna presentation at 3:00. Viktor, a friend of Lucky who appeared on Project Runway Season 9, has chosen to showcase his collection in a studio space. It’s easy to see why Viktor was such a fan favorite, the looks were captivating.

Back to the Mondrian Soho to rehash the day with a quick moment to refresh before dinner with friends at Miss Lily’s on Houston. What fun! (my eyeballs are officially tired)
