Fashion Week Journal – Day 1

3 shows back-to-back. Biggest decision of the day is whether to watch the Fall fashion or the ‘fashionable’ watching the fashion. Between the intricate beading found on the runway of Jenny Packham, the oversized cable knits and gauchos of Rachel Roy, discovering the Fashion Week debut of Negarin and the well executed looks of those attending all — the morning was off to a great start.
Take a look . . .

It’s not a proper trip uptown without a stop at Bergdorf Goodman. Straight to the 2nd floor shoe salon before our 12:30 lunch rezzie upstairs at BG Restaurant.
Jackpot! Reese Witherspoon & handlers camped out on a sofa . . . she compliments me on my cute red coat, which naturally leads to a Legally Blond discussion (in my opinion, a “must own” in any dvd collection). She is oh so cute – as are the shoes surrounding us!

We head to the Chelsea Fine Arts Building for the Viktor Luna presentation at 3:00. Viktor, a friend of Lucky who appeared on Project Runway Season 9, has chosen to showcase his collection in a studio space. It’s easy to see why Viktor was such a fan favorite, the looks were captivating.
“My FW2012 collection was inspired by traditional fine art and technology colliding. I loved playing with geometry, color, hard and soft fabrics and hyper-constructed silhouettes. I added drama with goat hair accents and industrial hardware. This collection, my largest to date, really focused on the “VIKTOR LUNA Girl”– she’s empowered, elegant and edgy. At the same time, I was able to preview my vision for accessories and menswear.” - Viktor Luna

Back to the Mondrian Soho to rehash the day with a quick moment to refresh before dinner with friends at Miss Lily’s on Houston. What fun! (my eyeballs are officially tired)

I’m sad you didn’t bring me back a Jenny Packham wedding dress.
Dying over Victor Luna’s prints!
